The OSM St. Peregrine Philippine Vicariate Commission on Vocations spearheaded by the Vocation Director Rev. Fr. Peter John Maria Ubanan, OSM has already hosted three Vocation Search-in Programs in response to the growing interest of our young people in our Servite identity and way of life.
The search-in programs, held over the weekends (October 3-5, 2025; February 27- March 1, 2026; and October 23-25) were hosted at the St. Mary of the Servants Formation House where the beginning stages of Servite formation—Aspirancy, Postulancy and Pre-Novitiate—are being nurtured. Those who joined the search-in are mostly junior and senior high school altar servers from our parish as well as from other parishes.
The program allowed the participants to experience the “horarium” of the formation community as well as the simplicity and uniqueness of our Servite formation and traditions.
Looking at the young people who are curious and eager about our religious life and mission as Friar Servants, we cannot help but see hope for a future full of young Servite religious brothers and priests who are carrying and sowing the seeds of our charism into the fertile grounds of our mission areas and communities.
By giving a chance to these young men to experience (albeit in a very short period of time) the structure of religious formation, our Servite way of life and as well as our humble expressions of love to our Lady, we are actually fostering a sense of urgency to respond to The Call so that there may be more young people who will heed Christ’s invitation: The harvest is great, but the laborers are few. Pray, therefore that the Lord of the harvest may send forth laborers into his harvest! (Mt. 9:37-38)
To the glory of God and the praise of the Holy Virgin!
