The OSM St. Peregrine Philippine Vicariate celebrated the simple profession of vows of three novice friars Fra Albert Jr. Maria Gaudia (Oslob, Cebu), Fra Cheslaf Myr Maria Melocoton (Villa de Arevalo, Iloilo City) and Fra Ricky Maria Villamor (Carmen, Cebu) during the feast of St. Juliana Falconieri.

Before the Mass, the Very Reverend Vicar Provincial Fra Paul Martin Maria Gapuz, OSM, JCL, blessed the Servite religious habits that are to be worn by the three friars. He then solemnly presided over the sacred celebration and received the simple vows which the friars professed for the first time.

During the Father Vicar’s homily, the three young friars were reminded of the essentials of the Servite religious life, of the devotion and love they ought to show more fully towards the Blessed Mother of God and of the evangelical counsels. The sanctuary and some pews of the chapel were occupied by visiting OSM friar priests who concelebrated at the Mass. The rest of the chapel areas such as the hallways and the grounds were packed with visitors.

A sumptuous luncheon was then served to the many guests— OSM formands, members of the Servite family, benefactors, the friars’ family members and friends—who attended in support of the brothers.

It is our constant prayer that the Lord may send us more young and eager people who will serve with us as we stand with the Holy Mother of God at the foot of the countless crosses of humanity.
Nos cum prole pia, benedicat Virgo Maria!
